Charlotte, N.C. Welcomes Revolutionary Phototainment System

By TapSnap

Local residents Carol and Sheldon Bernstein are bringing the excitement of TapSnap phototainment to events in the Charlotte, N.C. region. Launched this April at various locations across North America, TapSnap is the photo booth reinvented as an open-concept, high-tech photo system that is instantly connected to social media.

“TapSnap is a completely new kind of entertainment for events and parties,” said Sheldon. “It creates this interesting dynamic as spectators gather around the giant 42-inch touchscreen watching the antics of the guests as they have fun posing for the camera and taking their photos. It is an entertainment magnet for your guests.”

TapSnap provides an attendant to support guests as they take their pictures with the simple tap of a fingertip on the multi-touch screen. Guests can then draw on their photos, add personal messages and digital props such as hats and mustaches, and share their pictures instantly via social media and email, all with the touch of a finger.

Ideal for everything from weddings to proms to corporate events, TapSnap’s calendar is filling up quickly in North Carolina.

The phototainment system made its regional debut at the Matthews Chamber of Commerce After Hours event in March, and at the St. Patrick’s Day event at Galway Hooker Pub in Cornelius, N.C. The Bernsteins, who live in the Charlotte area, are the official TapSnap franchisees for the region.

The creation of a Vancouver, Canada company, TapSnap is rapidly expanding across North America and now has over a dozen franchises in operation across the country, with another dozen launching this month.

Scott McInnes, the CEO and Founder says: “Photo booths have been around forever, but the equipment didn’t keep pace with technology. TapSnap is light years ahead of the traditional
photo booth, and because it’s open-concept, everyone gets to play. I’ve never seen people have so much fun getting their picture taken.”

TapSnap is the latest venture in a long line of businesses owned by the Bernsteins. Their most recent business was Icy Treats, a mobile dessert business that served Italian ice and pretzels at local festivals, ball games and other events.

Sheldon is a successful entrepreneur having started and owned a window-covering retail and manufacturing operation in North Carolina and a fishing tackle retail store in Florida. Carol previously worked for American Express as National Director of Talent Acquisition, and also worked part-time with Sheldon in the businesses. With over 30 years of business experience, Carol and Sheldon know how to provide exceptional customer service.

“TapSnap is a unique concept in the market, unlike any photo booth you’ve ever seen before,” said Carol. “The timing was right, and we like the idea of having a franchise that provides support and tools for success.”
