Chamber Mixer in Purcellville Draws Year’s Biggest Crowd

Ninety-nine business leaders made the Loudoun Chamber of Commerce After Hours Mixer at Catoctin Creek Distillery on July 17 the best attended one of the year. The Speakeasy-themed event and new member reception was a mix of Chamber members, Purcellville Business Association members, and those interested in seeing what the Chamber has to offer.

Tony Howard, President and CEO of the Chamber, gave new members an opportunity to introduce themselves and spotlight their businesses.  One of those, Antonio Minor, owner and operator of TapSnap1100, set up a kiosk for what he described as “a new age photo booth.”  He provided an assortment of hats and themed sunglasses for people to don as they had their pictures displayed on a large screen before being printed, either alone or in groups. Everyone went home with a picture in hand and a smile on their faces. (For more on TapSnap and how it works, visit tapsnap1100.com.)

Host and sponsor Catoctin Creek, also a Chamber member, provided light snacks catered by Magnolia’s and their ever-popular cocktail, whisky, and brandy offerings. Catoctin Creek was the Chamber’s 2012 Small Business of the Year recipient.

“The key to effective business networking is being able to create and develop strong personal relationships with your fellow business or non-profit leaders,” Howard said. “The Loudoun County Chamber’s After Hours Mixer provide an excellent forum for outstanding business networking, while also allowing the Chamber to highlight one of our many great member businesses. We were so happy that Scott and Becky Harris agreed to host our July Mixer, for several reasons. First, the Harrises are two of the finest entrepreneurs in Loudoun County and their business right there on Main Street in Purcellville offers a great location and space to conduct a successful networking event. In addition, the Chamber’s membership really enjoys attending our events in every corner of our great Loudoun community and they clearly liked having the opportunity to visit beautiful Purcellville, as evidenced by the outstanding turnout.”

Howard added, “I want to thank the Purcellville Business Association for inviting their members to attend this Mixer and I thank the PBA and its President, Daniel Abramson, for their strong commitment to partner with the Chamber to help our respective members and our community be successful.”
