TapSnap revolutionizes phototainment at Houston parties and events

The revolutionary new TapSnap phototainment system has arrived in Houston, Texas, and parties and corporate events will never be the same again.

“The photo booth has been around forever,” said Gene Haddock, the TapSnap franchisee for Houston. “Until now, it’s never adapted to the new technology. TapSnap is breaking new ground by capitalizing on the latest technology available and social media. It has taken photo entertainment to an entirely different level. And there’s no booth so everyone can join in the fun.”

Launch at over two dozen U.S. locations in April of this year, TapSnap allows event guests to take their picture with a touch of the fingertip to the giant 42-inch multi-touch screen, and add digital props like funny hats or googly eyes. When they are done, they can share their creation instantly via social media networks and email, or print their photo to take home.

“The options for TapSnap would be almost unlimited in Houston,” said Haddock. “There’s going to be over 40,000 weddings this year. Our climate means there’s no wedding season. Weddings take place all year round. With Houston being a big hub for oil, gas and energy, there are a lot of companies based here. There’s multiple professional sports teams. And Houston is known for large, private charitable parties, upscale black-tie events that raise money for all sorts of causes.”

TapSnap made its area debut at the launch party for Houstonia, a new upscale magazine for the Houston area, held March 23 at Silver Screen Studios and attended by 1,500 people.

“TapSnap was surrounded by a constant stream of party goers throughout the night, who helped drive social media traffic for the magazine by immediately uploading photos to Houstonia’s Facebook page. It was a huge hit,” said Haddock, who was consulting on business strategy and audience development for the magazine.

Franchise opportunites

Other upcoming events include high school graduations, a Lake Houston Chamber of Commerce event on June 13th at Summer Creek High School and the Kingwood High School Sports Banquet that took place April 18.

The former VP of Consumer Sales and Marketing at the Houston Chronicle, Haddock left the newspaper industry last year to find a business opportunity that he and his wife could pursue together.

“For years, I’d been looking for business and franchise opportunities,” said Haddock, who lives in Kingwood with his wife and two children. “I’d organized many large events in my job at the Chronicle, and have a lot of business connections here. I wanted to do something good that I’d be proud to tell my kids. TapSnap is fun and the social media aspect is huge, and it’s going to keep growing.”

Haddock is one of the first franchisees of TapSnap, which launched in the U.S. in April this year. The invention of a Vancouver, Canada company, TapSnap is rapidly expanding across North America and franchises have launched at over two dozen locations at the U.S. including Los Angeles, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Toronto, Vancouver and many more.

Scott McInnes, the CEO and Founder says: “People just want to play, they want exciting pictures they can share on social media, and they want memories of their special event. TapSnap brings people closer together as they have a blast playing with pictures.”
